Create your dream list

“Your time is limited, so don’t let it be wasted living someone else’s life. Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. You’ve got to find what you love. Do what you believe is great work. If you haven’t found it, keep looking. Don’t settle.” ~ Steve Jobs

There are an unlimited number of things we can do in a lifetime. This is both exciting and frightening. It is easy to feel intimidated at the thought, and be uncertain of which of the many path options to choose from. This is where creating a dream list can guide you.

The list will assist you in creating a picture of your ideal future and giving insight into the life you would like to create. This will also give your life direction and assist you in ascertaining what you find important.

A dream list has no restrictions at all. It is a great way to record to create a meaningful and holistic inventory of the life you want to create. The first step in creating your dream list is to put fifteen minutes aside and find a space to create your list where you won’t be interrupted.

How to get started:

1) Either take a piece of paper and write across the top or make the list on your computer: “If I had unlimited time, money and talents I would ……”

In this brain storming exercise allow yourself to write down what comes to you. You might have dreams about your career, home, family, self-actualization, travel, lifestyle and relationships. This is a dream list with no judgement.

Remember that anything is possible and you have unlimited resources and no constraints. Take more time if you need it. You can write as much as you want and always come back and add more. This is meant to be an inspirational exercise.

2) Print it out and keep it in a place where you will see it often.

3) Review the list often. When you do – visualize what it will feel like when the things on the list happen / you achieve them. Add onto the list and mark the ones you achieve.

By creating a dream list and visualizing the positive outcomes of the dreams you will achieve much more than by not having a list.

The dream list has worked for me.

Have fun and keep on visualizing and creating your dreams. I would love to hear how it works for you and which of your visualized dreams come true.

“If you can dream it, you can do it” ~ Walt Disney
